Design Tools

There are a couple of software resources that I tapped into the first year. These can be very helpful when in the right hands. So much development in the professional world relies on drafting, simulation and emulation.

We already use the Mindstorms software to program the robot. That is all well and good, except when you have 10 kids, likely divided into smaller groups of two or three trying to get time on the robot to try out their code. Similarly, my builders sometimes need a little space to conceptualize their components. Again this requires the robot. Or does it?

As with learning the robot, these tools can take time to learn and are not always as intuitive as one might desire. However, a small amount of mastery can go a long way to learning and advancing the team.

Here are a couple of tools to help with the challenges of getting a team to design and build in parallel.
